Coleman Sailing Trip 2017

Well, we made it to Albania and have actually found WIFI! We had rather a delay in starting.   The plan was to leave at about 9am and get to Sarande at midday.   However, the agent we contacted told us that there would be no berth available on the quay until 7:00pm (which is equivalent to 8pm in Greece) because a cruise ship was in the harbour.   He did say we could anchor in the harbour and wait, so we saw no reason to hurry.   We decided to delay our departure and go to a café to find WIFI and post the blog from yesterday.   That too was scuppered because electricity was cut off to the whole marina to do repairs.   So just as Richard was about to connect to the WIFI, all connection was lost due to the lack of electricity. We did take it easy and left at about 11am.   The sky was clear blue and the wind was very light.   We learned from our previous mistakes and tested everything we could   before we left.   Windlass working, bow thruster working, engine starting and going.  

So the season starts again.   We flew into Corfu last night.   It was a more eventful trip than we had planned.   Firstly we tried to pay for some lunch with our main credit card and it was declined.   We got to the lounge and phoned the bank to discover that someone had been fraudulently using our card charging many transactions all over the USA.   We haven’t been there for over 5 months, so it is really odd this occurred now.   Anyway the upshot of it is that our main card has been stopped and we are not home to get a new one.   So we will have to use a debit card and other credit cards, which is a pain. Also our flight was delayed 40 minutes because of some trouble with the landing gear.   However, that was fixed and we took off and landed safely, if late.   We met someone else on the plane who was coming to the Marina so we shared a taxi which saved a little money, Today was very hot.   I need time to aclimatise.   The boat was quite well cleaned (a few minor irritants).
