Tuesday 30 May 2017 – Athens Airport

So the sailing season begins.  This year we are changing the timing of our sailing due to the fact that I could not get medical travel insurance for Richard that would cover a trip of more than 45 days.  So we are doing two tranches of 6 weeks at a time.  That suits me anyway as I thought 4 months a year took too much of our time and left nothing for say going to France. Anyway, we started our travel to the boat today.   We had a bit of a worry when the news hit over the weekend that the British Airways computer system had crashed stopping all their flights all over the world and especially in London where all outgoing flights were cancelled on Saturday and most on Sunday.   But by Monday we were able to check in on line, so things looked better.   It got better when we got to the airport where we were told that because of the problems the flight was full and we had been upgraded to Business class.   That was great and made a more comfortable trip with a free meal and booze.
