Sunday 18 June 2017 - Zea Marina, Athens

Well, we didn’t go anywhere.  We woke up early as planned and found that it was pouring down.  A quick check on the weather now showed it would be raining all day.  So we just went back to sleep!

We didn’t do much all morning.  It was raining hard almost all the time and it was cold!  This is not what we expected from Greece in June.  By lunchtime it had eased up a little.  So we decided to have a warm meal and then take a walk to the commercial harbour to see what that is like.  That did not go well.  We got horribly lost and kept walking in the wrong direction.  By the time we finally got to the port it was raining again and I went on strike.  Take me back to the boat or else it was.  So having finally found the direct road back to Zea, we made it without getting soaked through.  We did wind up in Starbucks again!

By early evening the sky started to clear and we decided to go out to eat.  Richard chose a restaurant from Trip Advisor which is on the other side of the Marina about half a miles walk, or more.  But we made it.  The meal wasn’t anything special, but we did at least get out.

Foolishly we didn’t get to the marina office before the shut to pay for tonight.  So our departure tomorrow will have to be a bit later than originally planned.  Anyway, we can’t arrive at the Corinth Canal on Tuesday because they are closed that day!  So perhaps a day’s delay is not so bad.
